In this issue

The gentleman’s issue is one of my favourite issues of the year. It could be because this is the one time, we get to focus on what men want and need – fashionably speaking. Coming up with interesting beauty regimes for men is definitely an interesting conversation to have; you would have to be a fly on the wall of that brainstorm room to understand why. The highlight of this issue, however, is the couture conversations. This could be because I was able to join the crew in meeting, shooting and sitting with each of these men, or because, I’m a great fan of light, yet interesting banter on topical matters. Brief and to the point, I hope you enjoy the read. We also have some great men’s fashion and beauty lined up for you, and while we may not have a ‘male cover’ as we always do, I think our Miss Universe runners up, did us some justice.

COUTURE CONVERSES WITH SOME GREAT MEN

As we rally behind the strength and success of a woman, we realise that we cannot do it by ourselves, and we do need the men in our society. ANNE KABICHO and the COUTURE Africa Team caught up with some of these great men - across various fields to talk about work, happiness, purpose and country.

What's Your Shade?

I have seen many a red in my time. Some have made me cringe. If it weren’t for the exceptionally high maintenance of red colour, I would run home and shampoo it all off. Some have been stunners, blessedly. You would imagine women with darker complexion would not be able to rick blonde and red shades. Would you be surprised if I told you there is a wide range of colour you can experiment with?

Creating The Ultimate Christmassy Home

On the whole, most Kenyans tend to show restraint when decorating their homes for the festive season. The little decorations put in place seem to have been done in a rush; a standard Christmas tree in the corner, an old dusty wreath stuck on the door (if any), a few twinkly lights haphazardly strewn in the living room and maybe around an outside bush, and the TV playing some “Jingle bell Rock” on 24-hour repeat. Christmas only happens once a year guys, so why not capture the magic of Christmas in your home with these inspirational ideas;

Kenya's Hidden Coast: White Cliff Villa

Kenya’s coastline is roughly 483 km stretching from Lamu to Mombasa in the south. Sandy white in some areas, palm-filed in others, filled with sparkling white coral in others. Majority of visitors to Kenya’s beautiful coastal region choose the more popular areas in the North coast over the more secluded South or islands such as Lamu. Most times, we overlook a spectacular treasure in between - Kikambala, Kilifi County.
